Parents are often led to wrongly believe that the challenges of our day are insurmountable. However, throughout all the ages parents have considered the (parenting) challenges of their day to be daunting.
Biblical principles provide ample guidelines regarding the rearing of strong and healthy, well-adjusted children.
Parent-guidance sessions are offered focusing on the respective roles of fathers, mothers and children. In the addressing of challenging behaviours, the difference between disciplining and punishing are spelled out, encouraging parents to adopt the principle of giving choices within the well-established structure of boundaries and predictable routines, allowing children to live with the consequences of their choices.
The restoration of parent-child relationships is a heartfelt passion of mine. Of particular interest is the re-establishing of father-son relationships, as this is a greatly neglected aspect of our society and is seen across cultures world-wide.
The importance of both healthy fathering and healthy mothering in the raising and establishing of healthy sons and healthy daughters cannot be under-estimated. In this regard, I encourage healthy family relationships including regular activities and family meetings during which valuable lessons regarding interpersonal relationships and managing of conflict are learned.
