I am registered as an educational psychologist and based in the northern suburbs of the Western Cape. I work with a Christ-centred approach in helping individuals, families, groups, teams or organisations find their true identity and establish the most effective ways in which to relate to one another.
I am also simply a normal, everyday guy who has been happily married to Antoinette since 1988 and the proud father of three sons. My involvement in various professional settings, as well as my background of where I grew up has granted me experience and skills to assist a wide range of people.
Apart from being qualified as a teacher (English and German), I was also employed in the field of human resources for ten and a half years before starting a private practice as educational psychologist based at my home since 2001.
I hold a belief in the triune God (Creator Father, Saviour Jesus Christ and Comforter Holy Spirit), making myself available for full time ministry in His service. As Triune Being, I believe He created people also as triune beings (body, soul and spirit) with a specific identity and creative purpose to function in healthy relationships with God, fellow man and also with themselves. My work satisfaction is functioning in my creative purpose – a desire to see people established in their true identity, finding their creative purpose and pursuing their God-ordained destiny. In so doing, it is my hope that they will also find love, joy, peace, prosperity and fulfilment in all their relationships.
There is a spiritual enemy who wants to rob people of their joy and peace by destroying their relationships. This is achieved by deceiving a person about their identity through lies from the moment of conception, strengthened through personal perceptions of certain life events.
To establish optimal functioning, I follow a cognitive therapeutic approach to try and identify irrational thought patterns and to allow them to be replaced with the Truth that sets free – a renewal of the mind that culminates in a restored identity, creative purpose, relationships and applicable healthy balanced behaviour.
Consultation is conducted by means of open conversation (no hypnosis or medication) with active participation of all parties, taking into account Biblical Truths and the Spiritual Realm as a reality. Prayer and spiritual warfare are applied as and when necessary. Every person’s personal beliefs are respected and no change will be forced.
Apart from written notes, there are no other forms of recording or record keeping. Personal information will at all times be handled strictly confidentially, except in cases where people’s lives are endangered, or where a court order enforces that information be revealed.
As marriage officer, I am also available to solemnize marriages.
